It’s October 2020, and there’s a lot to be afraid of in the real world. So why do many of us turn to scary movies for comfort? Is it titillation, catharsis, schadenfreude, or all of the above? In this special edition of Whiskey Flicks Live, Michael Niederman and Daniel McCoy explore a century of horror, thriller, and dark sci-fi flicks, asking what we’re really afraid of, when, and why?
Each show is completely different as Dan presents Mike with a fresh series of movie clips to prompt an in-the-moment stream of film criticism, social commentary and personal history. Mike doesn’t know what Dan’s going to show him, Dan doesn’t know what Mike’s going to say, and the audience is along for the ride. There may be singing. There will definitely be screaming. And drinking. BYOB!
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A HORROR-THEMED SHOW, WHICH, BY ITS VERY NATURE, WILL CONTAIN GRAPHIC AND DISTURBING IMAGES. NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART…OR LIVER…
